Whilst it may have been obvious at first, I had been neglecting shading with colour and opting only to use white or black when it came to shading. Seeing these made me aware of this and I have since learned to make use of darker and lighter shades of colours when working with characters or scenes in artwork where lighting and radiosity are present.
